Timo

19 September - 29 October 2017

Working under a secretive pseudonym, Timo is known above all for his street-art activities verging on satire and provocation. His numerous public space projects include e.g. a subversive modification of the Albert supermarket chain logo, reimagined as Albertina – the famous Viennese gallery – simply by adding three extra letters. Throughout his work, the artist also demonstrated his commitment to social matters. His inscription of Neboj (i.e. No fear) over the entrance to a pedestrian tunnel in Prague’s Karlín quarter is meant to encourage city inhabitants to use the formerly infamous route more frequently. The textual and poetic qualities of his works have even sparked comparisons of Timo to Banksy.
