Traditional Pro arte Salon presented extraordinary works of both Czech and international provenance. This year’s presentation included a valuable 1944 painting by Joan Miró, acquired in cooperation with the Fundació Miró in Barcelona. Figures, Birds, Stars constitutes a summary of the artist’s work as it had transformed following the end of World War II. In addition to the imaginative playfulness of Miró, the Pro arte Gallery also presented pieces by Salvador Dalí, Paul Klee and Giorgio de Chirico as well as the works of Czech artists including Emil Filla, František Kupka, Václav Špála and Zdeněk Sýkora.
